How the numbers are worked out
Source: the 65 boats Sun Yachts currently has for sale, 62 of which carry a listed price; the 3 "price on request" listings are excluded from every figure. All figures are asking prices, not sale prices.
Median = the middle value after sorting (the average of the two middle values for an even count). Price per foot = asking price ÷ length overall in feet, worked out boat by boat before taking the median. Where only metres are given, 1 m = 3.28084 ft. Quartiles use the inclusive method.
Brands are grouped by the first word of the model name; boat types merge "Cruiser", "Luxury Cruiser" and "Open Cruiser" into one group, and "Speedboat" with "Speed Boats".
Outliers such as the 212 ft 1984 Supercraft are included, with the figures excluding them given alongside.
